The Department of Social Welfare, Mission POSHAN Jammu & Kashmir, through various Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), has released multiple recruitment notifications inviting offline applications for the engagement of Sanginis (Anganwadi Workers) and Sahayikas (Anganwadi Helpers) in different Poshan Projects across the Union Territory.
As per the notifications issued by the CDPO offices of Banihal, Ramban, Marh, Mahore and Inderwal, a total of 35 vacancies have been notified for eligible female candidates.

Common Eligibility Criteria
Before submitting the application form, candidates must ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions prescribed by the concerned Child Development Project Officer (CDPO). Since all five notifications have been issued under the Mission POSHAN, Social Welfare Department, Jammu & Kashmir, the eligibility criteria are almost identical across all Poshan Projects.
Applicants who fail to satisfy any of the prescribed conditions or submit incorrect information are liable to have their candidature rejected at any stage of the recruitment process.
1. Gender
Only female candidates are eligible to apply for the posts of Sangini (Anganwadi Worker) and Sahayika (Anganwadi Helper).
2. Domicile
The applicant must be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
3. Residence Requirement
The candidate must be a resident of the Electoral Ward where the notified Anganwadi Centre is located.
This is one of the most important eligibility conditions. Candidates belonging to another Ward, Panchayat or Block are not eligible to apply for that particular vacancy.
Applicants should carefully verify the Ward Number and Anganwadi Centre mentioned in the notification before submitting their application.
4. Age Limit
The prescribed age limit is:

Educational Qualification
The educational qualification varies according to the post applied for.
Educational Qualification for Sangini (Anganwadi Worker)
Candidates applying for the post of Sangini (AWW) must possess:
- Minimum Qualification: 10+2 (Higher Secondary Pass)
- Maximum Qualification: Graduation
Important: Candidates possessing qualifications higher than Graduation, such as Post Graduation, M.Phil., Ph.D., or any equivalent higher qualification, are not eligible for engagement as Sangini.
Educational Qualification for Sahayika (Anganwadi Helper)
Candidates applying for the post of Sahayika (AWH) should possess:
- Matriculation (10th Pass) from a recognised Board.
In some notifications, it has also been mentioned that if no matriculate candidate is available for a particular Anganwadi Centre, candidates possessing lower educational qualifications (up to 8th standard) may be considered as per the Government guidelines.
Selection Process
The selection procedure is completely merit-based, and no written examination or interview will be conducted.
The merit list shall be prepared strictly in accordance with the recruitment guidelines issued by the Social Welfare Department.
Selection for Sangini (AWW)
- Merit shall be prepared on the basis of 10+2 marks obtained by the candidate.
Selection for Sahayika (AWH)
- Merit shall be prepared on the basis of Matriculation (10th Class) marks.
Candidates securing higher merit will be placed higher in the selection list.
Additional Weightage
As per the recruitment policy, 2% additional weightage shall be awarded to eligible candidates belonging to the family of a retiring Sangini (AWW) or Sahayika (AWH), subject to fulfilment of all prescribed conditions and submission of the required documentary proof.
Tie-Breaking Rule
If two or more candidates secure equal merit, preference shall be given to the candidate who is older in age, in accordance with the applicable recruitment guidelines.

How to Apply for Anganwadi Recruitment 2026
Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications in offline mode only. No online application facility has been provided for these recruitments.

Obtain the prescribed application form (Annexure-A) from the concerned CDPO Office or download it, if made available.
Step 2
Fill in all the required details carefully, including:

Important Instructions for Applicants
