As per the available information, there are 4300+ Panchayats in 22 Districts of J&K. Every Accounts Assistant will be allotted 2 to 3 Panchayats, depending upon the population and Likewise based on the Panchayats in a given District, No. of Accounts Assistant Posts will be allotted to these Districts

J&K Govt announced the Formal Notification for creation of 2000 Accounts Assistant Posts

On 12th July, 2019, Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries, Finance Department , Govt of J&K, has released the Formal Notification for creation of 2000 Accounts Assistant Posts. As per the Official Notification, Recruitment will be done by JKSSB on Fast Track mode with Selection Process to be completed in 45 Days.

District wise Break up of Accounts Assistant Posts.

This is too early to given you the District wise vacancies for Accounts Assistants, and that too before the official announcement of vacancies, but still we can give you a rough idea and Formula for district wise Accounts Assistant vacancies

As per the official announcement, One accounts assistant will be allotted to look after to 2-3 Panchayats Depending upon the Population. 

There are a Total of 4490 Panchayats in J&K, which are divided among 22 Districts of J&K 

And the Formula is : No. of Panchayats in a District Divided by 2  


More the No. of Panchayats in a District :: More the No.of Accounts Assistant Vacancies


Vacancies in Kathua: Kathua District has 257 Panchayats, so the approximate No. of Accounts Assistant Posts for Kathua is 115 to 130

Vacancies in Samba: District Samba has approximately 100 Panchayats, and as such, there will be 40 to 50 vacancies of District Samba

Applicants who have below mentioned Qualifications are Eligible to Apply for Accounts Assistant Jobs

1) A Graduate in Commerce (B Com).

2) A Graduate in Business Administration (BBA).

3) A Graduate in Science 

4) A Graduate in Computer Applications / IT ie (BCA/ MCA, B Tech [CS/IT]) 

5) Any Graduate who have studied the following subjects in All years / Semesters of their Degree

• Mathematics
• Economics
• Statistics
