Big Update: On 6th July 2020, JKSSB announced the Notification for 1889 Panchayat Accounts Assistant Posts. Apply before 31st August 2020. Now any Graduate with 50% Marks can apply

If you are a Graduate and Govt. Job Seeker in J&K, then you have surely heard about the Creation of 2000 Accounts Assistant posts in the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department. Yes, these posts were approved by SAC and an Executive Order was released by Finance Department for the creation and Advertisement of these posts with direction to JKSSB to fill these posts within 45 Days


These  2000 Accounts Assistant posts were scheduled to be advertised in the month of August 2019, however, On 5th August 2019 Article, 370 was scrapped, J&K was bifurcated, Internet banned. All these things lead to the postponement of Advertisement for 2000 Accounts Assistant posts. Afterwards On 4th March 2020, Govt.ended the Ban on Social Media and Open the Internet connectivity, Now everyone is waiting for the announcement of these posts. And the Good news is that Today, JKSSB has announced the much-awaited Recruitment for 1889 Accounts Assistant Posts. 

The Online Registration for JKSSB Accounts Assistant Recruitment 2020 shall start from 20th July and you can Register up to 31st August 2020.

JKSSB Accounts Assistant Recruitment 2020 

On 6th July, 2020, JKSSB has announced the much-awaited Recruitment for Panchayat Accounts Assistant Posts. These 1889 Accounts Assistant Posts have been Advertised via Advt. No 02 of 2020. As per the Official Notification, "Graduation in any Discipline is the basic Criteria to apply for these Posts. 

Moreover, Scale of Pay is also upgraded to Level-5. This means that the Panchayat Accounts Assistant will get the same Salary as we have for Accounts Assists in the Finance Department. 

This JKSSB Accounts Assistant Recruitment 2020 is one of the most awaited Recruitments of 2020. Candidates have been waiting for the Advertisement of these posts from Last 1 years. But Finally, on 6th July 2020, JKSSB has advertised these Posts. 

As per the Official Notification, Online Registration will start from 20th July 2020 onwards and Candidates can Register till 31st August 2020

What is the Eligibility Criteria for Accounts Assistant Posts?

Applicants willing to apply for JKSSB Accounts Assistant Recruitment 2020, should full fill the below-mentioned eligibility conditions

1) Domicile: Applicant should be a Domicile of Jammu and Kashmir, and must possess the Domicile Certification, before the Document Verification by JKSSB.

2) Age-Limit: Applicant should have his/her age in between 18 to 40 years. However, there is a relaxation in age limit as per the J&K Reservation Rules 2004. Here is the Upper age -limit for various categories given below

• SC/ST/RBA: 43 years
• PSP/OSC/ALC/IB/EWS: 43 years
• For Physically Challenged: 42 years
• For Ex-Serviceman: 48 years

3) Qualification: Applicant should have completed Degree in any discipline with minimum 50% Marks (45% Marks for Reserved Category). Moreover, Candidates having PG with 50% Marks and Those having P hd Degree are also eligible to apply for these posts.  

Why Accounts Assistant Posts are Delayed? 

Applicants should know that there are only two things causing the Delay in the announcement of Advertisement for 2000 Accounts Assistant posts. 

i) First in Delay in Declaration of Domicile Law. As the Domicile Rules are announced, so we can expect Notification any time now.

ii) Secondly Pendency in the announcement of Recruitment Rules.These are expected to be announced in May, 2020

As of Now, there is No elected Govt in J&K, so all the Rules and Regulation for the UT of Jammu and Kashmir are framed by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Recently, Honourable Minister in PMO Shri Jitender Singh Ji, recently informed that Domicile Law is in the Final stages of Preparation and soon details will be announced. After that,you will see in 2020 and 2021, vacancies in record numbers will be announced by JKSSB and JKPSC.

JKSSB Changed the Criteria for Account Assistant Posts

Here come the Big news, The much awaited JKSSB Criteria for Accounts Assistant Posts in Modified. As per the Notification issued Today. 

" “Graduation in any stream from any recognized University with

a minimum of 50% marks for open merit and 45% marks for

reserved categories”

So the long pending demand of Thousands of Graduates is full filled. Now, Graduates from any stream are eligible to apply for these posts

Syllabus Changed: Apart from this Minor changed are Made in this Syllabus of the Exam. " J&K Constitution is replaced with the Indian Constitution"

JKSSB Accounts Assistant Criteria Changed

Panchayat Accounts Assistant Criteria Changed Officially for Posts in Leh.

On 26th August 2019,  Subordinate Service Selection Board in Ladakh advertised 56 posts of Panchyat Accounts Assistants vide Advt. No 01 of 2019 and invited online applications for  District cadre posts with the Criteria (B Com, BCA, B Sc[IT]), Maths, Stats, Economics) as mentioned in the Executive Order issued in July 2019. 

For these 56 Accounts Assistant Posts, LAHD SSRB received more than 2000 applications. 

In the meanwhile, a Letter of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj bearing No. PD&PR/ Adm, 21097 dated 03-09-2019 endorsed by Project Officer Wages and Employment, ACD Kargil vide his endorsement No. POW/ACD-K/19/Adm/4978 Dated 15th Oct, 2019 in which it was clearly mentioned  that Qualification for Accounts Assistant is Changed AS

" Graduation in any stream from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks for Open Merit and 45% Marks for Reserved categories."


This way the Previous Accounts Qualification Criteria is cancelled and Now Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply for these posts

When Accounts Assistant posts will be Announced?

If everything goes as Scheduled, then these posts are likely to be announced in the Next 2 Months ie You can expected the Advertisement to be released by JKSSB in May/ June, 2020. It much depends upon the announcement of Recruitment Rules and Notification by JKSSB in the coming months
