And this is Why Health and Medical Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has decided to Engage the Retired Staff (Faculty Members, Paramedical and Nursing Staff) in Government Medical Colleges of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this, those who are going to retire in the next Six months wef 31st April are given an extension for 1 year. This is for the First time, J&K's Health and Medical Education Department, is conducting such a type of recruitment. and this is justified as the Fresh Recruitment will take months to complete.
So, if any of you who has retired after 31st March 2018 from the Health and Medical Education Department, you have this unique opportunity to serve the department for a period of 1 year. J&K Health and Medical Education Recruitment 2020
In view of the unfortunate situation arisen due to the spread of COVID-19, administration of J&K has decided to engage the retired staff in the H&ME Department for various posts given below1) Faculty Posts (Professors, Associate Professors)
2) Nursing Staff. (Sr. Staff Nurse, Jr. Staff Nurse)
3) Paramedical Staff (Technicians etc)
4) Doctors ( Consultants, Medical Officers and Sr. Consultants)
Nature of Appointment: Contractual
Here is the period of contractual appointment
- For Retired Staff: One year (wef 1st April 2020) OR Till further order
- For Retiring Staff: For a period up to 31-03-2021, beyond the due date of retirement Or till further order
Emoluments: Last Salary Drawn, minus pension and commuted amount of pension.
Leave Rules: Casual Leave as admissible to regular govt. employee.
Note: Applicants should note that persons engaged on contractual staff shall not be assigned
Who can apply for these posts?
There are only two categories of people that can apply for these posts in Department of Health and Medical Education, Govt. of J&K.1) Retired Staff: Those who have retired from the Health and Medical Education Department of J&K after 31st March 2018
2) Retiring Staff: Those who are likely to retire within Next Six Months w.e.f 31st March 2020 from Health and Medical Education Department of J&K

All those persons, who are covered under these categories are advised to submit their joining report immediately to the Office of Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu / Srinagar and Director Health / Services Jammu/Kashmir.
