Who can apply for these Posts ?
Applicants willing to apply for Assistant Professor Posts in Degree Colleges of Jammu and Kashmir, must full fill the below-mentioned eligibility conditions
1)Domicile: Applicant must be a Domicile of Jammu and Kashmir.
2) Age-Limit: Applicant should be over 18 years of age and maximum age should not exceed 40 years. The cut-off date for determining the Age limit is 1st January 2021. Relaxations in the upper age limit will be given as per the Categories given below
- SC/ST/RBA/EWS: 43 years
- ALC/IB : 43 years
- PSP, OSC and PHC: 43 years
- In-Service Candidates: 40 years
- Applicant should be a Masters Degree Holder in the concerned subject with minimum 55% Marks (50 % for SC/ST / Differently abled)
- Candidate must have cleared NET/ SET/SLET conducted by UGC, CSIR / AIU
- Those who have obtained PhD. Degree before 2009 are exempted from NET requirement.
- Moreover, those candidates are also exempted from NET, for which NET is not conducted in their Subjects / Disciplines.

Selection Process
The Selection Process for the Recruitment of Assistant Professors in Higher Education Departments comprises of following components
- Weightage to Academic Merit: 58 Points
- Research and Publications: 03 Posts
- Experience: 06 Points
- Demonstration: 10 Points
- Other Achievements: 03 Posts
- Interview: 20 Points
Shortlisting for Interview / Demonstration: For filling up the post of Assistant Professor in Higher Education Department, the candidates shall be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:3 (posts: candidates) in each category of reservation (including OM) on the basis of their weightage under academic merit (except Post Doctoral qualification) only
