So, Aspirants want to know about the Pay Scale and Grade Pay of Panchyat Accounts Assistants.

What Changes are Made?

The major change made in the Recruitment Process of Accounts Assistants is Eligibility Criteria.

The Previous Qualification was scrapped and Replaced with Graduation.

The Notification Reads, "Graduation in any discipline with minimum 50% Marks, (45% for Reserved Categories) "

As far as Syllabus is concerned only minor Changes are made

ie Constitution of J&K Topic in Syllabus is replaced with Constitution of India. All the other contents of the Syllabus remain the same. This means, those who have been studying with this Syllabus, has an advantage.

Is an Accounts Assistant and Panchayat Accounts Assistant are Different Posts?

Panchayat Accounts Assistant: If you remember in July 2019 when the Finance Department released the "Executive Order" for Filling up of Panchayat Accounts Assistant in Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department. In that Notification, it is clearly mentioned that " Whereas the Panchayat Accounts Assistant shall be a Separate Cadre for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj with one Panchayat Accwnts Assistant catering to 2 to 3 Panchayats, each depending upon the population, geographical distances etc."

From this, you can see that this Recruitment of Panchayat Accounts Assistant is Exclusively for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department.


Accounts Assistant:  On the Other Accounts Assistant is a separate post in various other Departments Like the Education Department, Finance Department and Revenue Department. Even in the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, there is a Post of "Accounts Assistant'' but these posts are not filled under Direct Recruitment Quoato but rather on "Deputation from the Finance Department.

SRO-780 Dated 25th Oct, 2019

On 25th Oct 2019, Department of Rural Development and Panchyati Raj released an SRO 780 in which the Non-Gazetted post in RD&PR Department are shown after the exclusion of posts of UT of Ladakh.

In that Notification, Both Accounts Assistant and Panchayat Accounts Assistants are shown as different cadre posts with Different Pay-Scale.

As per the Notification

1) Pay-Scale of Accounts Assistant is Level-5 (Rs 29200- Rs 92300)

2) Pay-Scale of Panchayat Accounts Assistant is Level-2(Rs 19900-Rs 63200)
