Not Happy with the JKSSB 2154 Teacher Recruitment for 14 Districts? Check the Govt's Reply Why No Posts for Ladakh and Jammu Division and Details on Upcoming 8200 Fresh Teacher Posts

If you are reading this post, then chances are that you are aware of the recently announced JKSSB Teacher Posts for 14 Districts of J&K. On 27th Dec 2017, JKSSB Chairman, Mr Simrandeep Singh Tweeted at his Official Twitter Handle that 2154 Teacher Posts will be announced on 28th Dec 2017 and this Tweet went Viral in no time, as aspirants have been waiting long for the announcement of Teacher Jobs in J&K. But who knows, this Teacher Notification has something discriminatory for Two Particular Regions ie Jammu and Ladakh.

When the Notification and Detailed Advertisement was Finally announced, the District wise vacancy positions reflect the Discriminatory attitude of J&K School Education Department towards the Un-Employed and Educated youth of Jammu and Ladakh Division.

So, What the JKSSB Teacher Recruitment 2018 actually has, that it is Termed "Discriminatory" by Many.

1) 86 % (1864 Posts) Announced for Kashmir Division
2) 14% (290 Posts) for Jammu Divison
3) 0% (Zero Post) for Ladakh Division.

From the above Figures, you can see, that this Teacher Notification, has Bumper posts for Kashmir Division, while Jammu and Ladakh Division are completely Ignored.

What is more Shocking that Jammu being (J&K's Winter Capital), along with Other 7 District has Zero vacancies.

Here is the List of Districts, for which No vacancies have been announced

1) Jammu
2) Kathua
3) Ramban
4) Poonch
5) Doda
6) Kishtwar
7) Leh
8) Kargil

It is worth mentioning here that Last time, Teacher Recruitment in the state was announced in 2013 when more than 7400 Posts were announced and Since then there was No Teacher Notification in Last 4 years. It was only in the Last week of Dec 2017, that JKSSB announced the Notification for 2154 Teacher Posts,  and that too for 14 Districts only, while in 2013, Posts were announced for All the 22 Districts of J&K.

As soon the news of this Discrimination of Teacher Recruitment went viral, Opposition Parties Like Congress and Panthers Party demanded that this Notification should be taken aback and a revised Advertisement should be announced, taking care of all other Districts.

"A mere 15 per cent share for Jammu and zero share for Ladakh speak volumes about the discriminatory policy of the state government, which should immediately rectify the notification and ensure due share to all the three regions of the state," a Congress spokesman said.

Is JKSSB at Fault?

A Lot of Teacher Aspirants from Jammu Region have accused Government and particularly JKSSB Of its biased approach towards Jammu Region.

But these accusations at JKSSB are Totally Baseless, as JKSSB is only a Recruitment Agency and It Advertises, only what is referred to it and this is What JKSSB Chairman Mr Simrandeep had replied to an Aspirant when he asked Why vacancies are not announced for all the Districts.

So, those who are accusing JKSSB of not announcing the Vacancies for Jammu and Ladakh Division are Simply Ignorants and they have no Idea of the Working and Role of a Recruitment Agency.

In fact, we should all be thankful to Chairman Sir, that for his Unique and Dynamic Style of Working, JKSSB is no more a Lazy Recruitment Agency. It is all due to his Efforts, that JKSSB is becoming one of the Best Recruitment agency in J&K, even better than JKPSC and PRB.

Is J&K School Education Department at Fault?

Yes, to some extent.

And this is What Simran Sir has hinted in his tweet, that for No Teacher vacancies allocated to some Districts. Aspirants should meet the Department Officials and Officials here are Officers at Directorate of School Education Jammu.

Actually, only these people have information, as Why the vacancies for Jammu Division were not announced.

Actually, there are 2 reasons as to Why the vacancies are not announced for Jammu Division

1) Either Directorate School Education, Jammu, has not collected the Vacancy information from the respective CEO's and the CEO's have not collected the Vacancy Details from the respective Schools.

2) OR There were No Teacher vacancies in these Eight Districts, but this is not possible, as Every year a sufficient No. of Employees (Teachers, Masters)  retire from the Education Department, creating enough vacancies to be advertised and How it is possible that there were No Retirements happened in the Last 4 years.

From this we can conclude, that Directorate of School Education Kashmir is very much aware of Teacher Posts Lying vacancy in All the 10 Districts of Kashmir Division and they referred the vacancies to JKSSB for Recruitment and On the other hand, Directorate School Education Jammu, have no idea about the vacancy position for its 6 districts.

Government Response to Discrimination in Teacher Recruitment

On 29th Dec, 2017, Opposition Parties staged a protest and accused Govt of Discriminating with Jammu and Ladakh Region in the Teacher Recruitment.

Rejecting the Charge of Opposition, Government Spokesperson said

"Teachers post is a district cadre post and these posts, under direct recruitment quota, are referred to SSB from time-to-time, strictly as per the vacancy position in each district." "The 2,154 posts of teachers referred to SSB this year is strictly as per the vacancies of teachers that have accrued in each district," the government spokesman said.

Here Government Spokesperson gives the example of 2013 Teacher Advt

In 2013, 7434 Teacher Posts were referred to JKSSB under Direct Recruitment Quota.

At that Time,

  • 67% (4954 Posts) for Jammu Division
  • 33% ( 2480 Posts) for Kashmir Division

Government Spokesperson also informed that Department has not created any new teaching post in the recent times, and State Cabinet has also approved creation of 8200 additional teacher posts with the upgradation of 400 Government Schools (200 from Middle to High Schools and 200 from High Schools to Higher Secondary Schools)

When 8200 Teacher Posts will be announced?

Recently JKSSB has announced the 2154 Teacher Posts for 14 Districts of J&K and Now everyone is eager to know When the Next JKSSB Teacher Recruitment will be announced.

All Depends upon, How Faster the Government Acts.

As soon as the Schools will be upgraded, vacancies will be referred to JKSSB (For Teachers) and JKPSC ( For 10+2 lecturers and Assistant Professors.)

It is expected that Next Notification for Teacher Recruitment will be announced either by the end of 2018 Or By the start of 2019.
