Today, J&K Police, had announced the bumper recruitment in J&K. This is the 2nd biggest recruitment by JK Police this year. Earlier, JK Police had announced the recruitment for 4000 constable posts for which record No. of applicants have applied.
Now, this time, JK Police had invited applications for Special Police Officers (SPO) for all the 22 Districts of J&K. It is worth mentioning here, that these are District cadre posts, and applicants belonging to their respective districts can only apply.
Applicants willing to apply for Special Police Officer (SPO's) posts, can submit their applications in prescribed format from 10th August 2016 to 25th August, 2016, at the Office of the concerned Deputy Commissioners.

JK Police SPO Recruitment 2016 : Complete Details
J&K Police, the backbone of security in J&K had announced the bumper recruitment and invited application for SPO's
1) Post : Special Police Officers (SPO's)
2) No. of Vacancies : All in 22 districts
Note: There is no mention of exact no. of vacancies, but there is expectation, that vacancies will be huge as, recruitment is being done for the districts of J&K separately.
3) Salary : Applicants selected for SPO's, will be paid a fixed monthly honorarium, admissible as per the rules.
Roles and Duties of Special Police Officers (SPO's)
1) SPO's will have to assist Traffic Police personnel in Traffic regulation on roads.
2) They shall have to meet the requirements in Tourism sector regulation
3) Moreover, they have to provide helping hand at the time of natural disasters.
What is the Eligibility Criteria ?
Applicants, willing to apply for the post of Special Police Officers (SPO's), will have to full fill the below mentioned eligibility conditions.
1) Domicile : Applicant, must be a permanent resident of J&K and must apply for the SPO posts for their respective district only.
2) Age Limit: (As on 1st Jan, 2016) : Applicant, must have attained the age of 18 years and the maximum age should not exceed 28 years.
3) Educational Qualification : The minimum qualification to apply for SPO's is Matric only. There is No preference given to candidates having Higher Qualification.
4) Physical standards : Apart from this, applicants, must full fill the below mentioned physical standard conditions.
Selection Process: The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of the their performance in the Physical Endurance test (PET) and Marks in Matric along with Age.

How to Apply ?
Applicants willing to apply for SPO's in JK Police, must submit their application forms, starting from in the prescribed format from 10th August to 25th August, 2016.Application Form: Applications are to be submitted in the prescribed format only. You can download the application forms from the Official website of JK Police. Or you can get the Photostat copy of application forms from the DC Office also.
The Duly filled in applications forms, along with Requisite documents viz Matric Diploma, state Subject, Academic qualifications, 4 passport size photos, should reach the office of concerned Deputy commissioner before 25th august, 2016.
